A BEAUTIFULLY REFURBISHED GRADE II* LISTED FARMHOUSE, SET IN THE HEART OF THE CORNISH COUNTRYSIDE

The complete refurbishment of a Grade II* listed farmhouse in Cornwall was a project that demanded Woodbridge Bespoke's expertise and experience in crafting high-quality bespoke furniture.
The clients had a clear vision of what they wanted for their new kitchen, sitting room, and dining room cabinets. They wanted the space to reflect their unique style and meet the needs of their busy family life. The clients’ goal was to blend the traditional architecture of the building with modern and practical design elements.
The kitchen was a major part of the project, and Woodbridge Bespoke was tasked with creating a beautiful, functional, and timeless space. The kitchen was to be made entirely of oak with a clean, elegant design. The island was to feature a two-way drawer, a secret drawer, and a double-sided cupboard, allowing easy access from both sides. A bespoke butcher's block was also incorporated into the end of the island, adding a unique touch to the design.

The sitting room TV and bookshelf cabinet was designed to complement the clients' vision for a sympathetic and classical interior. The cabinet was hand-painted in a crisp, off-white. The cabinet featured a large sliding panel that could be used to conceal the TV when not in use, creating a seamless and uncluttered aesthetic. The shelves were designed to be adjustable with multiple sliding drawers in the cupboards below for toy storage.
The dining room cupboards were also hand-painted in the same crisp white, providing a cohesive look throughout the farmhouse. The doors of the cupboards were traditional mortise and tenon shaker style, adding to the timeless aesthetic. The floating shelves, with recessed LED lighting made for an elegant area to display their beautiful ceramics.
The clients were impressed with Woodbridge’s attention to detail and craftsmanship. They were particularly pleased with the level of communication and collaboration throughout the project, which allowed them to have a say in every aspect of the design.

One of the challenges of this project was the sensitivity required to work on a Grade II* listed farmhouse. Great care is needed to ensure that the design and construction of the furniture were in keeping with the traditional architecture and aesthetics of the building. We worked closely with the main contractor and architect to ensure that every element of the project was cohesive and harmonious.
The finished result was a stunning and timeless space that perfectly balanced traditional and modern design elements. The farmhouse was transformed into a home that was not only beautiful but also practical and functional for the clients' busy family life.

The cabinetry throughout the house were all designed to be both practical and beautiful, blending traditional and modern design elements seamlessly.
